Darshan Thoogudeepa, Accused In Renuka Swamy Murder Case, Stuns Court by Demanding Poison in Jail

Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, accused in the Renuka Swamy murder case, shocked everyone during a court hearing after he demanded to be poisoned instead of facing the strict conditions inside Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara Jail.

Darshan, who was arrested last year in connection with the Renuka Swamy murder case, told the court that he was being harassed in prison since he was denied any privileges. The Supreme Court had earlier cancelled the bail granted to him by the Karnataka High Court and had strictly instructed that he must not receive any special treatment behind bars.

Because of this order, Darshan is being kept under tight restrictions in Parappana Agrahara Jail. During a video conference appearance before the 57th CCH court in Bengaluru, he made a shocking request.

Darshan's shocking demand to the judge

According to reports, Darshan pleaded before the judge saying,"It's been 30 days since I saw the sun. My hands are covered in fungus. Just give me poison. This order should be given by the court."

The judge was stunned at his demand and responded, "You cannot ask me like that."

Court's response to Darshan's plea

Darshan had initially filed an application seeking an additional pillow and bedsheet inside jail. While hearing this application, the judge told him that the court would give necessary orders to the prison authorities regarding his requests. The matter has been adjourned until 3 PM for further hearing.

No privileges for Darshan in jail

Following the Supreme Court's order, the prison authorities have ensured that Darshan receives no special privileges. This strict enforcement has reportedly left the actor distressed, leading to his shocking statement in court.
