BMTC Bus Driver Tries To Run Over Woman, Shocking Incident Caught On Cam | WATCH

In a chilling incident that took place during peak traffic hours in Bengaluru, a BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus driver allegedly attempted to run over a woman following a brief altercation on a busy city street.

The episode, which reportedly occurred at around 5:40 PM on 23 May, was captured on video and shared by the X account 'Third Eye', prompting widespread outrage and raising serious concerns regarding road safety and the accountability of public transport services.

According to media reports, the young woman had been travelling in a car that pulled up beside the BMTC bus.

For reasons yet to be fully clarified, she is said to have stepped out of her vehicle to confront the bus driver.

The precise cause of the dispute remains unknown. What ensued, however, was deeply disturbing: rather than responding to her, the driver allegedly moved the bus forward, seemingly in a deliberate attempt to hit her.

Fortunately, the woman stepped back in time and was unharmed. The incident, recorded on mobile phones by nearby witnesses, rapidly went viral on social media and triggered widespread condemnation.

The footage shows a visibly irate driver and the visibly shaken woman standing dangerously close to the moving vehicle, intensifying public concern over the behaviour of BMTC staff.

Authorities have yet to confirm the exact location of the incident, though several social media users have speculated that it occurred along key routes in central Bengaluru. Public calls for strict disciplinary action are mounting, with many urging the BMTC and the city's transport department to respond swiftly and transparently.

Officials are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby traffic cameras, in addition to the viral videos, in an effort to identify the driver and reconstruct the events accurately.

Commuters have called on BMTC to carry out a thorough internal investigation and take appropriate action if the allegations are substantiated.
