Bengaluru's Mahadevapura Welcomes Ram Temple Inauguration By CM Siddaramaiah
On the day of the consecration (Pran Pratistha) of the Ram Lalla Idol in Ayodhya, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah inaugurated a Ram Temple in the Mahadevapura area of Bengaluru. Additionally, the chief minister unveiled a 33-foot-long Hanuman idol alongside the Ram temple.
After the inauguration of the Ram Mandir, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah addressed reporters, defending his decision not to declare a government holiday in Karnataka for the enshrinement of Sri Rama in Ayodhya after centuries. He questioned whether the central government had declared a holiday for all states during the event in Ayodhya and criticized the BJP's objection to not granting leave in Bangalore.

Siddaramaiah emphasized that this is not a political event and highlighted the presence of Rama in both Namur and Ayodhya. He questioned if everyone is the same and reiterated his intention to visit Ayodhya, citing Gandhiji's devotion to Rama. CM Siddaramaiah was honored by Sri Rama Trust, the temple's builder, during the program, receiving idols of Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, and a bow and arrow.
Declaring himself as not an atheist, Siddaramaiah expressed his belief in the existence of God. He spoke on stage after the temple inauguration, actively participating in the idol installation with idols of Sri Rama Chandra, Sita Devi, Lakshmana, and Hanuman. Siddaramaiah acknowledged the widespread love for Sri Ramachandran across the country, with 143 crore people worshiping him. He emphasized the long-standing tradition of building Rama temples in the state and praised the diversity of names through which people worship God.
Siddaramaiah highlighted that the Sri Rama Temple is not newly built but has a historical presence. He pledged to continue building such temples in the future and drew parallels between the ideals of the Ramayana and Mahabharata with the principles outlined in the constitution.
