Bengaluru's Double-Decker Flyover On Namma Metro Lines Sees Light Traffic Amid Rainy Weather
The newly inaugurated double-decker rail-cum-road flyover in Bengaluru, which was opened to the public for a trial run yesterday, witnessed surprisingly very few commuters today. Video footage captured the largely empty lanes of the flyover, raising questions about its immediate utility and the factors influencing its usage.
One plausible reason for the low turnout could be attributed to the inclement weather prevailing in Bengaluru, with intermittent rains possibly deterring commuters from venturing out. Additionally, today marks the day after Muharram, a significant observation for many residents, potentially affecting normal traffic patterns.

Another possibility is that not many people knew the flyover was open yet.
Despite its strategic location connecting Ragigudda to Central Silk Board, and being part of Bengaluru Namma Metro's Yellow Line, the initial underwhelming response prompts speculation about future traffic projections and the effectiveness of the double-decker flyover in alleviating congestion.
Authorities and officials from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) are yet to comment on the observations. As Bengaluru residents adjust to the new addition to the city's infrastructure landscape, further assessments will likely determine the flyover's impact on easing traffic congestion in the long term.
