Bengaluru: Youth opposed to blow smoke in his face; got murdered

Bengaluru, Sept 1: Requesting three men not to blow smoke in his face ended up in the death of a youth in Bengaluru on Monday, Aug 31.

The shocking incident took place in Kasturi Nagar near the Ram Murthy Nagar traffic signal in Bangalore East.

The victim was identified as Shashank Srinath, who was a BPO employee and was 26-year-old.

According to police, Shashank visited the apartment of his friend Vishnu Unnikrishnan in Kasturi Nagar. They, along with another friend Alex consumed alcohol.

Vishnu and Alex went to drop Shashank around 2:30 am. On the way, they stopped at a tea stall in Kasturi Nagar and Shashank went to buy cigarettes.

After sometime, Alex and Vishnu went in search of Shashank to the tea stall. There they found three youngsters embroiled into an argument with Shashank.

According to media reports, one among the three youngsters stabbed Shashank.

When they shouted for help, the accused approached them with knife. Vishnu and Alex fled from the crime scene and reported the incident to the beat policemen. The accused were chased by the policemen and two of them were nabbed.

The third and main accused named Daniel who allegedly stabbed Shashank was arrested on Tuesday, Sept 1 morning.

The other two accused have been identified as Ajay and Vasu.

According to the police sources, the three of the accused confessed that they got annoyed when the victim asked them not to exhale cigarette smoke at him.

But despite his request, the accused continued doing the same. This led to dispute and Shashank was stabbed on the spot.
