Bengaluru Yellow Alert: Patchy Rains in Some Areas; East And South Remain Dry
Bengaluru Rains: Residents of the Garden City woke up to scattered rainfall on Thursday morning, with showers recorded in areas like Yeshwanthpur, Rajajinagar, Goraguntepalya, Jalahalli Cross, Peenya Industrial Area, and Mahalakshmi Layout. As of 12:30 PM, Bengaluru East witnessed thunderstorms and moderate rain, according to the latest updates.
Meanwhile, South Bengaluru saw little to no rainfall, leaving many parts of the city dry. Despite overcast skies in some regions, the expected showers failed to materialise, continuing the uneven distribution of rainfall across the city.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more rain for today and tomorrow across several parts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru, due to the impact of a cyclone near the Odisha coast.
Social media was abuzz with images and videos of Bengaluru's rainy morning, as users shared their experiences online.
One user wrote, "Cool morning in Bengaluru today!''
Another user humorously remarked, "Bengaluru weather is weathering," as the city woke up to a pleasant, rain-kissed morning. Meanwhile, traffic police are on alert, preparing to manage any congestion if the showers intensify later in the day.
Heavy Rainfall Likely in Coastal Karnataka
According to IMD, coastal districts like Uttara Kannada, Udupi, and Dakshina Kannada are likely to experience thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. Wind speeds in parts of Uttara Kannada could reach 30-40 km/h, while scattered rainfall is expected across North Karnataka.
Strong Winds in Interior Karnataka
Apart from coastal areas, interior Karnataka is also expected to see moderate to heavy rainfall, along with strong winds of 40-50 km/h in districts like Hassan, Mysuru, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, and Kodagu.
Rain Expected in Bengaluru and Surrounding Areas
The IMD forecast indicates widespread rain across Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Kolar, and Ramanagara in the coming hours. The ongoing wet spell is expected to continue, with cloudy skies and intermittent showers.
With the monsoon gaining strength, authorities have advised residents to stay updated with weather alerts and take necessary precautions against strong winds and thunderstorms.
