Bengaluru Woman Fatally Stabbed By Husband At Bus Stand In Front Of Daughter

A tragic incident unfolded in Bengaluru when a 32-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her husband at a bus stand, as reported by the police on Tuesday. The attack occurred in front of her teenage daughter, leaving her as a witness to the crime.

The couple, who had been married for only three months, were both in their second marriage. According to preliminary investigations, they had met through mutual friends and decided to marry after a year and a half of courtship.

Details of the Incident

The stabbing took place at Sunkadakatte bus stand on Monday morning. Bystanders attempted to intervene but were threatened by Lohitashwa, the husband, who brandished the knife before fleeing. Rekha succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

Rekha worked at a call centre while Lohitashwa was employed as a cab driver. They lived together in a rented house near Sunkadakatte with Rekha's elder daughter from her first marriage. Her younger daughter stayed with Rekha's parents.

Possible Motive Behind the Crime

Marital discord is believed to be the motive behind this tragic event. The couple frequently argued since their marriage began. On the day of the incident, they had another heated argument which led Rekha and her 13-year-old daughter to leave for the bus stand.

Lohitashwa followed them there and continued quarreling. When Rekha's daughter tried to intervene, he attacked Rekha with a knife, resulting in her death.

Police Investigation Underway

A murder case has been registered at Kamakshipalya police station. Authorities are actively working to apprehend Lohitashwa, who remains at large following the incident.
