Bengaluru Woman Alleges Groping, Shares Video Of Suspect

A woman took to social media to recount a distressing incident where she was allegedly groped by a man in Bengaluru. Stuti Singh shared her ordeal in a detailed thread, including a video of the man, who tried to conceal his identity.

The incident occurred while Singh was being dropped off by a friend near her residence. Upon exiting the vehicle, the man approached her from behind and groped her. Singh immediately called her friend, who apprehended the man before he could escape.

Woman Shares Groping Incident Video

"In this video, the man is admitting to his actions. My friend was able to catch him, and if not for that, the situation could have been much worse. We contacted the Bangalore Police, and he was taken into custody," she explained.

Despite the evidence, Singh decided against filing a First Information Report (FIR) due to the anticipated challenges and stress associated with legal proceedings. She expressed concerns about the impact on her mental health and the complexities of the legal system.

"I am unable to file an FIR because of all the trouble that lies ahead. The number of court trials and everything involved would mentally harass me," she shared, noting the advice of her neighbors who witnessed the incident.

Singh highlighted the issue of women's safety in Bengaluru and India, emphasizing that the man was fully conscious of his actions. While she did file a complaint against him, she chose not to pursue legal action beyond that.

"To everyone asking why did I leave him? I did not, I have filed a complaint against him and he has accepted what he did in front of cops," she clarified, adding that her intention was to raise awareness about the loopholes in the legal system that could allow the perpetrator to evade justice.

The post, shared on Tuesday, has garnered nearly seven lakh views, with social media users expressing support and urging Singh to reconsider filing an FIR with the Bengaluru Police.
