Bengaluru Weather: Heavy Rains Cause Waterlogging; Traffic Movement Affected
For the second consecutive day, several parts of Bengaluru witnessed heavy rains as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a 'yellow alert' for Karnataka's capital.
The heavy rains resulted in waterlogging in several areas including Veeranpalya in KR Puram, Whitefield and Babusapalya service road. Streets in Malleswaram, Shantinagar, Mysore Bank, and Town Hall were flooded with knee-deep water.

On the other hand, the weather-monitoring agency has issued a 'yellow alert' indicating heavy rain in southern Karnataka districts, including Bengaluru, for the next three days.
Overnight heavy rainfall in Bengaluru city led to waterlogging in a few parts of Shankar Nagar area. Visuals from a commercial outlet where water is being pumped out. As per the IMD, Yelahanka received 147.5mm of rainfall, while Kengeri and Dayanandanagar saw 62.5mm and 58.5mm of precipitation respectively.
Shantinagar, Ramamurthy Nagar, Hosur Road, Mysuru Road, the outer ring road, Seshadripuram, Koramangala, Vijayanagar, Bannerghatta Road, Indiranagar, and the Benniganahalli metro station area experienced flooding.
"Generally cloudy sky. Rain/thundershowers very likely, heavy at times. Mist very likely during early morning hours in some areas. Maximum & Minimum temperatures very likely to be around 27 and 19 Degree Celsius respectively," the Regional Meteorological Department said in its latest statement.
Traffic Jam
Heavy rainfall led to slow-moving traffic. The Bengalu City Traffic has been giving updates about it on social media sites. On the Nehru main road in Banaswadi, a vehicle hit a tree and the branch of the tree fell on the road, causing traffic disruption. The said tree is being cleared.

- Slow-moving traffic due to water logging near Veeranpalya down ramp towards KR Puram.
- Slow-moving traffic due to BMTC bus off-road near Tinfactory towards Kasturi Nagara.
- Slow-moving traffic due to BMTC bus off-road near CL Cross towards Mekhri Circle.
- Due to persistent rain there is slow movement on ORR from Kalyan Nagar to KR Puram via Kasturi Nagar. Also slow movement on HAL-Varthur road from Marathalli to Varthur Kodi.
- Slow-moving traffic towards Whitefield due to water logging in Panatturu railway bridge.
- Slow-moving traffic at Babusapalya service road near Kalyana Nagara underpass due to water logging.
- Slow-moving traffic near the Kalyana Nagara flyover due to water logging.
- Slow-moving traffic due to water logging near CQAL Cross, Jayamahal Road.
