Bengaluru Water Supply Cut: No Water For 2 Hours On Nov 14, BWSSB Issues Alert
Bengaluru Water Supply Cut: The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has announced a two-hour water supply disruption on Thursday, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm, due to urgent repair work.
As reported by Deccan Herald, the repairs will involve the replacement of the 220 kV High-Level Bus GOS and other equipment along the 220 kV power line between the Vrishabhavathi and Tataguni power plants.

During this time, the Tataguni 220 kV power station and all water pumping equipment in the Cauvery Water Supply Scheme will be shut down, causing a temporary disruption in the water supply across all stages of the Cauvery water system.
Cauvery Phase 5 Water Supply Project
Last month, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar launched the highly anticipated Cauvery Phase 5 Water Supply Project, aimed at alleviating the state's water crisis.
The project, one of the largest of its kind in India, will supply water to approximately 5 million people in Bengaluru. It includes the construction of India's largest water treatment plant, with a capacity of 775 MLD, and a state-of-the-art flood control system to ensure continuous operation.
Meanwhie, three advanced booster pumping stations have been built at TK Halli, Harohalli, and Tataguni. These stations enable water to be pumped to a height of 450 meters (equivalent to a 50-story building) through steel pipes ranging from 500mm to 2200mm in diameter, covering a distance of around 110 kilometers. The monumental project required 145,000 metric tonnes of steel and 2.4 crore man-hours to complete, marking a major milestone in modern engineering.
