Bengaluru Traffic Alert Today: Karaga Mahotsava Anticipates 10,000 Crowd; Check Alternate Routes
The traffic advisory for the "Karaga Mahotsava" scheduled in Bengaluru today and tomorrow in the Madivala limits was issued by the Bengaluru police on Tuesday. It is expected that a crowd of 10,000 people will attend the festival, and guidelines have been put in place by the cops for managing traffic and ensuring smooth vehicular movement over the two days.

The advisory stated that on March 12 and 13, 2024, approximately 10,000 individuals from surrounding villages, including political leaders, will participate in the Sri Renuka Yallamma Devi Karaga Mahostav, which is held once every 10 years at Hongasandra Beguru main road within the jurisdiction of the Madivala traffic Police station.
Furthermore, on March 12, 2024, from 5:00 pm onwards, the Flower Palanquin Utsav will proceed from Hongasandra Anjaneya Temple to Adarsha School. During this time, traffic heading towards Beguru from Kodichikkanahalli Junction via Hongasandra Main Road will be blocked at Kodichikkanahalli Junction and diverted towards D Mart on Devarachikkanahalli Main Road.
Similarly, traffic coming towards Kodichikkanahalli Junction on the Beguru main road will be blocked at the PK Kalyana Mantapa crossroad under the jurisdiction of the Hulimavu Traffic Police Station and redirected to the inner roads of Beguru. In consideration of these changes, alternative routes have been suggested for public use from 5:00 pm on Tuesday until 3:00 pm on Wednesday. These alternative routes include options such as:
- Vehicles heading towards Begur via Bommanahalli Junction on Hosur main road can proceed directly to Kudlugate and take a right turn there to reach Begur main road.
- Vehicles travelling from Bommanahalli Junction towards Devarachikkanahalli and Begur can take a right turn at Kodichikkanahalli Junction and proceed through D Mart Junction.
- Vehicles coming from Begur towards Kodichikkanahalli can take a left turn near PK Kalayana Mantapa cross under Hulimavu Traffic Police Station and reach Kodichikkanahalli via the internal roads of Begur.
- Vehicles can then continue onwards, reaching Devarachikkanahali main road and proceeding towards Bommanahalli Junction via Kodichikkanahalli Junction.
The advisory concluded by requesting all road users to cooperate with the Bengaluru Traffic Police.
