St Mary’s Basilica Chariot Procession 2025: Bengaluru Traffic and Parking Guide

Bengaluru police have issued a traffic alert ahead of the annual St Mary's Basilica chariot procession on Monday, 8 September 2025. The Shivajinagar Traffic Police are enforcing road closures, no-parking zones, and alternate routes to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Parking is strictly prohibited in the following areas during the procession:

• Broadway Road
• Meenakshi Koil Street
• Central Street
• Shivaji Road
• Cunningham Road (between Balekundry Circle & Chandrika Hotel Junction)
• Union Street
• Infantry Road
• Cubbon Road
• Hospital Road
• Lady Curzon Road
• VSN Road
• Plain Street
• MG Road
• Ramada Hotel backside (old Congress office)

Road Closures & Traffic Restrictions

1. Jyothi Café to Russel Market: No vehicle movement
2. Broadway Road to Russel Market: Closed for all vehicles
3. Dharamaraja Koli Street: No entry from Old Poor House Road junction towards Russel Market
4. BRV Junction (Cubbon Road to Shivajinagar Bus Stand): Closed south to north, including BMTC buses
5. Balekundry Circle to Shivajinagar Bus Stand: Closed west to east, including BMTC buses, from 2 PM onwards

Alternate Routes

BMTC Buses:

From Anil Kumble Junction → Left at BRV Junction → CTO → Queen's Circle → MG Road

Two-Wheelers & Light Motor Vehicles:

BRV Central Street → Right → Safina Plaza → Commercial Street → Kanwari Road

BRV Central Street → Select Junction → Left → Ramada Hotel → VSN Road
