Bangalore Traffic Advisory: On the upcoming Sunday, January 26, Bengaluru is set to host a grand Republic Day parade at the Field Marshal Manik Shah Parade Ground situated on Cubbon Road, commencing at 9 am. The occasion will see the Governor hoisting the national flag and overseeing the parade. To ensure the smooth conduct of this prestigious event, the Bengaluru City Traffic Police has announced significant traffic management measures around the parade venue. These arrangements have been publicized through a recent tweet, highlighting changes in vehicular movement and parking restrictions in the vicinity of the parade ground.

For the duration of the parade, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, there will be no vehicle movement in both directions between BRV Junction and Kamaraja Road Junction. Specifically, vehicles heading towards Manipal Centre on Infantry Road are advised to follow a rerouted path. This involves proceeding directly on Infantry Road, turning left at Safina Plaza onto Main Guard Road, then onto Alice Circle-Dispensary Road, and finally turning right at the Kamaraja Road and Dickenson Road junction to continue towards Manipal Centre via Kamaraja Road - Cubbon Road and Kamaraja Road junction.
Moreover, traffic adjustments include rerouting vehicles coming from Manipal Centre Junction towards B.R.V. Junction near Manipal Centre, taking a right at Webbs Junction and M.G. Road. Similarly, vehicles from Anil Kumble Circle heading towards Cubbon Road are instructed to go straight on Central Street, turn right, then left at Infantry Road – Safina Plaza, and follow this by a right turn at Main Guard Road – Ali Circle – Dispensary Road – Kamaraja Road and Dickenson Road junction, finally turning left at Kamaraja Road – Cubbon Road and Kamaraja Road junction, to reach Manipal Center via Cubbon Road.
To accommodate attendees with official passes, provisions have been made for them to alight at designated gates and park their vehicles in specified areas as per their passes. Emergency service vehicles, including ambulances, fire brigade, water tankers, K.S.R.P. QRT, B.B.M.P., and PWD vehicles, are directed to enter through Entrance Gate-2 and park behind the port wall towards the south. Media representatives are to enter through Entrance Gate-4 and park on the eastern side of the ground.
In light of security measures, all attendees, including the public, are advised against bringing items such as mobile phones, helmets, cameras, radios, and umbrellas to the parade. Those in possession of such items will be barred from entering. The public is requested to arrive by 8 am to facilitate orderly entry. Parking will be strictly prohibited on Central Street from Anil Kumble Circle to Shivajinagar Bus Stand, on Cubbon Road from CTO Circle to K.R. Road, and on M.G. Road from Anil Kumble Circle to Ksheens Circle.
The Bengaluru Traffic Police have urged the public to opt for public transport and metro services to ease traffic congestion and compensate for the limited parking available near the parade ground. The spokesman emphasized the police's readiness to assist and encouraged the public to cooperate to ensure the success of the Republic Day celebrations. Additionally, the BBMP has arranged for drinking water and toilet facilities, encouraging attendees to make use of these provisions.
