Bengaluru Sizzles At 38.3°C: Records Hottest Day Ever, But Rain On The Horizon!
Bengaluru experienced its hottest day of the year on April 5, with the Kempegowda International Airport recording a maximum temperature of 38.3 degrees Celsius, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The airport also recorded a minimum temperature of 22.6 degrees Celsius, accompanied by a relative humidity of 14%.
Both Bengaluru city and the HAL Airport recorded a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Bengaluru city was 24 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity of 18%, while the HAL Airport's mercury level dropped to 22.5 degrees Celsius, with a relative humidity of 24%. The temperature in Bengaluru is expected to remain around 38 degrees Celsius over the next 36 hours.

Despite the heat, there is hope for rainfall in Bengaluru. The IMD has predicted 'light to moderate' rainfall over the city from April 13 onwards, lasting until the end of the month. A senior IMD official stated to Times of India, "Rainfall can be expected from the festive day of Ugadi with a few spells of light showers in isolated areas gradually increasing to moderate rainfall during the second half of the festive week."
