Bengaluru’s New Hebbal Flyover Loop Opens, DK Shivakumar Steals Show By Riding Vintage Yezdi RoadKing

The Hebbal Flyover Loop, a new infrastructure project in Bengaluru, was inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. This development aims to alleviate traffic congestion by 30% at the notorious Hebbal Junction. Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar added a personal touch to the event by riding his vintage Yezdi RoadKing motorcycle across the loop, reminiscing about his college days.

Constructed for ₹80 crore and completed in just seven months, this 700-metre-long loop is expected to significantly ease traffic at Hebbal Junction. This junction is crucial for vehicles heading towards Kempegowda International Airport, IT corridors, and northern suburbs. The daily traffic woes of Bengaluru's motorists have long been associated with this area.

Infrastructure Improvements

Deputy CM Shivakumar expressed enthusiasm on social media after the inauguration. He stated, "Breezing through traffic at Hebbal Junction! A 700 metre ramp built at a cost of 80Cr in just 7 months, will reduce traffic congestion by 30% and improve commute quality." His post highlighted the project's potential impact on daily commutes.

The Chief Minister's office also shared updates on social media. They announced that Siddaramaiah inaugurated a new flyover connecting K.R. Puram to Mekhri Circle during an event at Hebbal Junction. Several dignitaries, including Minister Byrathi Suresh and BDA Chairman N.A. Harris, attended the ceremony.

Government's Commitment

This flyover loop is part of a broader government strategy to decongest major junctions across Bengaluru. The aim is to streamline traffic flow throughout the city. The project has been eagerly anticipated as it promises to enhance infrastructure and improve travel conditions for residents.

In a lighter moment, Shivakumar also mentioned reliving his college days by riding his old Yezdi RoadKing during the inauguration ceremony.
