Bengaluru Prepares For Lakshdeepotsava: Traffic Management And Alternative Routes Announced
Today, the Nagalingeshwar temple in Begur, Bengaluru, is set to celebrate Lakshdeepotsava, an event marked on the last Monday of Kartika Masa. This festival is expected to draw between 80,000 to 90,000 devotees, significantly increasing traffic in the Begur area. In anticipation of the large crowds and to manage the flow of vehicles, the Bangalore Traffic Police have announced several road closures and restrictions in the vicinity of the temple.
Due to the expected influx of devotees to the Lakshdeepotsava festival at the Nagalingeshwar temple, the Bangalore Traffic Police have put in place road restrictions around Begur. Specifically, vehicular movement from PK Kalyana Mandapa Junction on Begur Road to Ekana Hospital Junction on Begur Koppa Road is restricted. Additionally, traffic is barred from Palkan Market Junction on Manipal County Road straight to the temple, and from DLF Junction to Begur Kerekatte Junction on DLF Road. These measures aim to ease congestion and ensure safety for all attendees.

Alternative Travel Routes
In light of the traffic restrictions, the Bangalore Traffic Police have suggested alternative routes for motorists. Those traveling from Bommanahalli-Hongasandra towards Beguru Koppa Road are advised to detour from PK Kalyana Mantapada junction, via Devarachikkanahalli Road, then onto Nyanappanahalli Road through Deo Heights to reach DLF Junction, and finally take the Elenahalli Main Road to Beguru-Koppa Road. For those heading towards Manipal County Road, a route through Chikka Begur and Vishwapriya Layout Main Road has been recommended. Additionally, motorists from Hosur Main Road and Manipal County Road should take a left turn near Palkan Market to access Begur Koppa Road and Bannerghatta Main Road via Mylasandra through the AECSC-Block.
For attendees coming towards Beguru via Beguru Koppa Road, a left turn near Ekna Hospital Junction leading onto DLF Road towards Nyanappanahalli, Devarachikkanahalli, Bommanahalli, and Hongasandra is suggested. Similarly, those approaching Beguru Circle from DLF are advised to take a left turn near DLF junction, proceed via Nyanappanahalli Road, then onto Diodites Layout Road and Devarachikkanahalli Road towards Hongasandra, Bommanahalli.
As Bengaluru prepares for the Lakshdeepotsava celebration at the Nagalingeshwar temple, these traffic adjustments are crucial for ensuring a smooth and safe experience for all participants. Devotees are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly, taking note of the restricted roads and the alternative routes provided by the traffic authorities. This year's festival is set to be a significant event, bringing together thousands of worshippers in a vibrant display of faith and tradition in the heart of Bengaluru.
