Bengaluru Resident's Placard On Ola Electric Scooter Goes Viral: Ola Legal Team Responds
A Bengaluru resident has issued a stern warning to others considering purchasing an Ola Electric scooter after facing repeated breakdowns. Nisha C Shekar, who had paid in full with cash and waited nearly a month for delivery, reported ongoing issues despite customer care updating the software.
On her social media handle @Nisha_gowru on X (formerly Twitter), Shekar shared her frustration by posting a picture of her scooter with a placard reading: "Dear Kannadigas, Ola is a useless two-wheeler. If you buy one, it will only make your life hard. Please do not buy an Ola Electric scooter." She signed it as a "frustrated Ola customer," aiming to alert potential buyers about her negative experience.

In addition to her social media protest, Shekar has lodged a formal complaint with the District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, which has acknowledged the case and issued a notice to Ola Electric.
Earlier, on August 4, Shekar detailed an incident where her scooter broke down after a 1.5-hour repair at an Ola service center staffed by "untrained technicians." She recounted having to push the scooter for a kilometer at night to reach home.
Shekar expressed her dissatisfaction, stating, "After paying ₹1,62,000, Ola Electric treats their customers worse than slaves! It is their mistake, and I shouldn't have to take time off work to tow this defective scooter to the service center."
Following the viral post and legal action, Shekar received over ten calls from various Ola service centers and the Ola legal team. They indicated that an analysis of the vehicle is underway to find the best possible solution. "Stay tuned for updates," Shekar concluded in her latest post.
