Bengaluru Resident Urges Donald Trump To 'Intervene' In City's Infrastructure Delays As Well

A Bengaluru resident has taken a witty dig on social media, calling upon former US President Donald Trump to intervene in two perpetually delayed infrastructure projects in the city.

In a post on X, the user appealed to Trump to "mediate" with local authorities to fast-track the completion of the Ejipura flyover and the rollout of the Namma Metro's Yellow Line.

"Could you please mediate with BBMP to ESCALATE Ejipura flyover works in Bengaluru? We'll name it as MAGA Trump Flyover. And with BMRCL for Yellow Line Metro trains too in Bangalore," the post read, tagging Trump's official handle @realDonaldTrump.

The user followed up with a cheeky challenge: "Stopping India - Pakistan War is not such a big deal. If he wants to prove that he's a strong negotiator & global leader, let him do this & prove his worth to the world. Open challenge."

The tongue-in-cheek plea was posted a day after Trump announced a ceasefire between India and Pakistan following recent border tensions.

The Ejipura flyover project has become a symbol of civic apathy in the city, with its construction dragging on for years. Likewise, the Yellow Line of the Namma Metro - meant to link RV Road and Bommasandra - has repeatedly missed its deadlines, frustrating commuters and residents along the route.

While the post was clearly satirical, it struck a chord with many Bengalureans fed up with administrative delays.

The post quickly went viral, with other residents joining in, blending humour with genuine grievances about city infrastructure.

One user joked, "The moment Trump was asked to get Ejipura flyover done, he said ceasefire khatam lekin yeh flyover nahi ban sakta (The ceasefire can end but this flyover won't be finished)."

Another commented, "If you can negotiate with BBMP, you are truly a global leader," highlighting the Bengaluru civic body's infamous inefficiency.

Someone else tagged Trump again, adding, "Also escalate BBMP to repair the Outer Ring Road and especially Hoskerehalli flyover."
