Bengaluru Rainfall Disrupts Traffic, Roads Flooded; Waterlogging Hits KR Puram, Marathahalli
Bengaluru woke up to cloudy skies and intermittent showers on Thursday, leading to waterlogging and heavy traffic congestion across key routes in the city. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert, forecasting moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days.
Traffic Disruptions Due to Waterlogging

Several arterial roads and junctions in Bengaluru witnessed slow-moving traffic due to waterlogging and increased vehicle density. Commuters faced major delays on:
- Ecospace to Marathahalli: Waterlogging caused traffic to slow down significantly.
- Veerasandra Junction towards Hosur Road: The rain-induced water stagnation led to sluggish vehicle movement.
- Baiyappanahalli Metro Station to Old Madras Road: A high volume of vehicles resulted in traffic congestion.
- Dr. Rajkumar Punya Bhoomi to Peenya: A commuter remarked, "Due to light rains and the collapsed infrastructure of Bengaluru, traffic is moving very slowly on this stretch."
Additionally, water accumulation near M M T Junction (KR Puram) has affected the movement of vehicles heading towards Whitefield, Mahadevapura, and KR Puram, causing further delays.
IMD Issues Rainfall Warning
The IMD has predicted moderate to heavy rain in Bengaluru over the next few days, advising commuters to plan their travel accordingly. The showers, combined with existing road infrastructure issues, have intensified traffic congestion in various parts of the city.
Authorities Urge Caution
With several areas experiencing waterlogging and slow-moving traffic, the Bengaluru Traffic Police have issued advisories and urged commuters to exercise caution while traveling.
