B'lore pubs to introduce breath analyser.

Bengaluru, Nov 18: In a move to reduce the number of drunken driving cases, pubs in Bengaluru will be introducing safety measures for its visitors by introducing breath analysers at their doorsteps.

This comes under the campaign-RISK (Road safety Initiative for a Safe Karnataka)-collaborated by taxi aggregator Ola and the government. With this, customers will know what is the level of their alcohol consumption and can avail a taxi service if the reading is beyond the permissible limit to drive on their own. As of now, close to 1000 pubs in Bengaluru have agreed to follow this new campaign.

Welcoming the move was Food and Civil Supplies Minister UT Khader who said that if people began assessing for themselves how much alcohol they had, the number of drunken driving cases would come down. This move would also make alcohol users behave responsibly.
