Bengaluru: Pro-Pakistan Slogans Found In Factory Restroom, Cops Launch Probe

Tensions arose at a factory owned by a multinational company in the Bidadi industrial area on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Saturday after pro-Pakistan slogans were discovered scribbled on the restroom walls.

The graffiti was found on Friday night, and images of it were circulated on social media, reported the New Indian Express. The following day, Kannada organisations staged a protest, according to the police.

As per police reports, unidentified individuals had written 'Pakistan Jai' and 'Victory to Pakistan' in Kannada, along with derogatory remarks against Kannadigas.

In response, members of Kannada organisations assembled outside the factory, demanding the arrest of those responsible.

The police stated that upon being alerted, they immediately arrived at the factory, inspected the restroom, and gathered information from the management and workers. They also reviewed CCTV footage from the premises. Given that the factory employs over 3,000 people, authorities suspect that some employees may have been involved in the act.

Additionally, the factory management has issued a notice warning employees against engaging in such activities.

The Bidadi police have registered a case under Section 196 of the BNS (which addresses actions or statements inciting disharmony, enmity, or hatred among different groups based on religion, race, language, or region to maintain social harmony and prevent disturbances) and Section 353(2) (relating to making, publishing, or circulating false statements, rumours, or alarming news intended to foster enmity, hatred, or ill will between different groups), along with relevant provisions of the IT Act.
