Bengaluru Power Cut on September 10: Areas in East Bengaluru to Face 2-Hour Outage

Residents of Bengaluru are set to face power outages on September 10, with the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) announcing scheduled disruptions due to emergency maintenance work. According to a BESCOM media release, power supply will be suspended in several areas from 10 AM to 12 Noon to carry out maintenance at the Banaswadi 66/11 KV Sub-station.

The company explained that the move is a precautionary measure, especially in areas prone to heavy rainfall. The emergency maintenance and repair work are aimed at ensuring smoother and more reliable power supply in the coming days.

Areas affected by the power outage include Horamavu P&T Layout, Nisarga Colony, Nandanam Colony, Ashirvada Colony, Jyotinagar, Agra, Balaji Layout, Chinnaswamappa Layout, Coconut Grove, Devmata School, Amar Regency, Vijaya Bank Colony, HRBR Layout, Kammanahalli Main Road, Kalyana Nagar, Hennur Village, Chelekere, and Meghna Palya.

Other neighbourhoods facing disruptions are Geddelahalli, Kottanoor, Vaddarpalya, Janakiram Layout, BDS Garden, Satya N Clave, Prakriti Badaung, Hoysalanagar, Brindavan Badaung, Vinayaka Layout, Vivekananda Layout, Manjunath Nagar Road, Yasin Nagar, NRI Layout, Punyabhoomi Layout, Samad Layout, Kullappa Circle, Rajkumar Park, Sangolli Rayanna Road, Ramamurthynagar Main Road, and Krishnareddy Barangay.

Additionally, power cuts will also impact Chikka Banasawadi, Subbayyanapalya, Green Park Layout, Divya Unni Layout, Prakriti Township, Bairati, Kalasanahalli, Nakshatra Layout, Bairati Bande, Sangam Enclave, Atham Vidyanagar, Bairatihalli, Kanakashree Layout, Babusappa, CNR Layout, R.S. Palya, Munikallappa Garden, Hanumanthappa Road, Kalkere, Munegowda Road, Samriddhi Layout, and Jayanthi Nagar.

BESCOM has advised citizens to charge mobile phones, laptops, and essential electronic devices in advance. Households using electric water pumps have been urged to store sufficient water beforehand, while residents are also asked to take necessary precautions to safeguard electrical appliances.

With the scheduled Bengaluru power cut on September 10, BESCOM has assured that the short disruption will help strengthen the reliability of the city's power supply.
