Bengaluru Power Cut Alert: 12-Hour Outages Hit Sarjapura, Attibele as HTLS Upgrades Roll Out

Residents on the city’s outskirts are set to face power supply disruption on January 17 and 18, with outages planned between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on both days. Officials state that the daytime shutdown will affect several neighbourhoods served by key substations around Sarjapura, Attibele, Anekal, Samanduru, and Chandapura.

The scheduled power supply disruption is linked to major transmission upgrades on the 66 kV Sarjapura–Attibele line. Engineers will replace the existing single-circuit coyote conductors with HTLS (High Temperature Low Sag) conductors, and also string a second circuit using HTLS from the 220/66/11 kV Sarjapura station to improve capacity.

Areas and schedule of power supply disruption

As part of the same power supply disruption work, stringing activities will also take place at the 66/11 kV Attibele, Samanduru, Anekal, and Chandapura substations. Officials have planned industrial (IP) loads for night hours, so factories and other large users are expected to receive supply mainly outside the daytime maintenance window.

During the period of power supply disruption, many localities under the 66/11 kV Attibele substation will be affected, including Yadavanahalli, Icchanguru, Vaddarapalya, Attibele Industrial Area, Balagaranahalli, Manchanahalli, Attibele Town, Mayasandra, Dasanapura, Balluru, Kamblipura, Chikkanahalli, Indlabele, Harohalli, and nearby areas, along with parts served by Samanduru, Anekal, and Chandapura.

The planned power supply disruption is limited to daytime on both January 17 and 18, with industrial consumers moved to night schedules. Officials advise that residents and businesses in the listed localities prepare for outages while the utility completes the HTLS upgrades across the Sarjapura–Attibele and linked substation network.
