Bengaluru Police Arrest Kannada YouTuber For Threatening Video That Sparked Fear

Deepak Gadhigappa, a Kannada YouTuber known as "@DVINKANNADA," was arrested by Bengaluru police on Monday for allegedly threatening another YouTuber on social media. Deepak, a moto vlogger who describes himself as an "Automobile Enthusiast" on his Instagram account "deepu.vlogs," frequently shares posts featuring cars and bikes. He has approximately 232K followers on Instagram and 533K subscribers on YouTube.

The Kadugodi police took action after Deepak posted a video that raised "public safety concerns." In the viral video, Deepak used abusive language and made threats toward another YouTuber. He had uploaded the controversial content himself on his YouTube channel, which quickly drew the attention of both the public and the authorities.

The Bengaluru police, through their official Whitefield division handle (@dcpwhitefield), addressed the situation, stating: "Deepak, who caused public fear by posting a threatening video on social media, has been arrested, and a case has been registered at Kadugodi Police Station."

The police further urged the public to be responsible online, avoid sharing hateful speech, and verify the accuracy of alarming news before reacting or spreading it.

In the video, Deepak, speaking in Kannada, made bold and alarming statements: "My darlings, if you need contacts for the rowdies, I will find them for you. I thought you were looking at the map of Bangalore and calling Hoskote. There are no rowdies in Hoskote. Call Whitefield. Sir/master is my father, not me. If you set aside my wife and son for two seconds, then there's no bigger rowdy than me in Bangalore. Send, send whoever you want to send."

This provocative message alarmed viewers and authorities, leading to Deepak's arrest on Monday, September 9. He is currently in police custody as investigations continue to assess the nature and extent of the threats made.

The case is being handled by the Kadugodi police station, with ongoing inquiries into the incident and its broader implications.
