Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line All Decked Up for PM Modi’s Launch; Check BMTC Feeder Bus Routes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to inaugurate the much-awaited Namma Metro Yellow Line, connecting RV Road in South Bengaluru via Electronic City to Bommasandra, on Sunday, 10 August 2025. This new metro corridor marks a major milestone in Bengaluru's urban transit system, promising to boost connectivity and ease traffic congestion across the city, especially at the infamous Silk Board junction.

The Yellow Line stretches over 19.15 km, running from Rashtriya Vidyalaya Road (RV Road) in South Bengaluru to Bommasandra in the east. Featuring 16 elevated stations, this metro line was built at an estimated cost of ₹5,057 crore, offering modern and efficient transit to thousands of daily commuters.

Route Coverage: RV Road to Bommasandra, passing through major hubs like Electronic City, Silk Board, and BTM Layout.

Inauguration Date: Sunday, 10 August 2025 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Operations Start: Commercial service to begin Monday, 11 August 2025.

Trains: Initially, three driverless trains will run with a frequency of 25 minutes, improving to every 20 minutes as more trains are added.

Operating Hours: 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily.

Daily Ridership: Expected to serve up to 800,000 commuters.

Fare Range: Affordable fares from ₹10 to ₹90 for a one-way trip.

BMTC Introduces New Feeder Bus Services

To complement the Yellow Line, the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) will launch four new feeder bus routes starting 11 August 2025, improving first- and last-mile connectivity for commuters.

MF-22 Route: Connects Electronics City with Doddakannalli via Konappana Agrahara, Hosaroad, Kasavanahalli, and Kaikondrahalli.

MF-22A Route: Runs between Konappana Agrahara and Electronics City, covering Huskur Gate, Muttanalluru Cross, Thimmasandra Cross, and Chandapura Cross.

MF-22B Route: Connects Bommasandra and Electronics City Wipro Gate, stopping at Thirupalya Cross, S-Mando-3, Hebbagodi, and more.

MF-22C Route: Covers Konappana Agrahara to Electronics City Wipro Gate via Bommasandra and Hebbagodi.

These new bus routes aim to provide seamless connectivity between residential areas, tech parks, and metro stations, especially benefiting IT corridor commuters.
