Bengaluru May See Rain For Next 5 Days, Yellow Alert Issued
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Bengaluru and its surrounding areas for the next five days.
The weather department also warned people about weather disruptions and power cuts in a few parts of the state, due to the rain.

A yellow alert has been issued to Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Chikkaballapur, Kolar and Mandya districts and these regions are expected to receive mild rainfall.
It also predicted that thunderstorms along with lightning and heavy winds with speeds reaching 30-40 kilometers per hour likely to hit Bengaluru.
The IMD also warned about the traffic disruptions and potential accidents due to the bad weather. It also advised people to stay safe during rains.
IMD scientist Prasasd said the rainfall will be more in south interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rainfall will be expected in the coastal districts.
"A cyclonic circulation lay over south Telangana and Andhra Pradesh other parts of peninsular India, besides a trough extending from south of Chhattisgarh up to Telangana and . Under the influence of these developing systems over peninsular India, thunderstorms and gusty wind are likely to occur in many parts of Bengaluru," said Prasad.
"Light or moderate fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning, gusty winds very likely over Kerala, Lakshadweep and scattered rainfall over South Interior Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Andhra Pradesh during next 5 days," the IMD said in its latest bulletin.
"Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on 30th May; over Tamil Nadu, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka on 30th and 31st May and over Kerala during 30th May-03rd June," it added.
