Prajwal Revanna Assigned Library Clerk Duty in Jail

According to jail officials, Revanna has been assigned the role of library clerk. His work involves issuing books to inmates, keeping records of borrowings, and assisting with basic library management. For this duty, he will be paid a daily wage of ₹522, in line with prison labour rules.

Why Was Revanna Given This Job?

Prison authorities revealed that life convicts must perform labour inside jail premises. While Revanna had expressed interest in administrative work, officials decided his skills were better suited for a library role. He has already completed one day of duty in this capacity.

What Is His Work Schedule in Jail?

Normally, inmates are expected to work at least 12 days a month, spread across three days per week. However, Revanna's workdays are currently limited because he frequently attends court hearings and meets his lawyers regarding ongoing cases.

Revanna, now listed as Prisoner No. 15528, stays in the convicts' section of Parappana Agrahara prison. His new role highlights the strict enforcement of prison regulations, where every inmate, regardless of background, is expected to contribute through work.

The Criminal Cases Against Prajwal Revanna

Revanna is the prime accused in four criminal cases registered in 2024. More than 2,000 obscene video clips, allegedly showing him sexually abusing multiple women, surfaced on social media, sparking public outrage.

The first complaint was lodged in April 2024 by a 48-year-old domestic worker employed at his farmhouse in Hassan. She accused him of repeatedly raping her since 2021 and claimed he had also filmed the assaults and threatened her with exposure if she spoke out.

• Unlawful circulation of intimate images

Revanna had fled to Germany soon after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but he was arrested upon his return to India on May 31, 2024. Since then, he has been in judicial custody.
