Bengaluru High Alert: Hotels Instructed To Report Suspicious Activity, Monitor Guests
As the nation prepares to celebrate the 78th Independence Day, the iconic Red Fort in Delhi is being meticulously prepared for the grand event. Similarly, Bengaluru, the capital of Karnataka, is making its own preparations. On August 15, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is set to hoist the national flag at Manekshaw Parade Ground in Bengaluru. However, in the midst of these preparations, a disturbing development has come to light - Bengaluru city has been identified as a potential target for terrorist activities.

In response to this threat, the Bengaluru Police have been placed on high alert. Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda has issued a directive to the President of the Bengaluru Hotel Owners Association, urging them to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity. The letter specifically instructs hotel owners and staff to notify the local police station immediately if they observe any foreign nationals, suspicious individuals, or unidentified persons staying at their establishments.

Commissioner Dayananda has emphasized the importance of maintaining a detailed record of all guests, including their identification and photographs. The letter also highlights the necessity of cooperation from hotel management, including owners, managers, and staff, to ensure the security of the city during this sensitive time.
This heightened security comes in the wake of a recent bomb blast incident at Rameshwar Café in Bengaluru, which has prompted the police to take stringent precautionary measures to prevent any further incidents.
As the city gears up for Independence Day 2024 celebrations, the Bengaluru Police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure the safety and security of its residents and visitors.
