Bengaluru Gets A 70-Acre Sports City: Boost For Karnataka Youth And Aspiring Athletes
To encourage youth to participate more in sports and to provide them with further motivation, the state government has announced a new scheme. CM Siddaramaiah, who is presenting the budget for 2024-25, has stated that a mini Olympics will be organised at the state level every year.
To facilitate the mini Olympics at the state level, a Sports City will be constructed on 70 acres in Bengaluru. In this mini Olympics, cash prizes will be awarded to those who secure first, second, and third place, as announced in the budget.

Incentives for Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medal Winners
Gold medalists at the Asian and Commonwealth Games will receive Rs. 35 lakhs, silver medalists will receive Rs. 25 lakhs, and bronze medalists will receive Rs. 15 lakhs as incentive money, as announced.
Injury Insurance for Athletes
In order to provide health insurance for athletes in case of injuries during participation in national and international level sports, health insurance benefits will be provided by the state government.
