Bengaluru Fridge Murder: Did Mahalakshmi's Colleague Kill Her Due To Closeness With Another Man?

The Bengaluru Police have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation into the gruesome murder of 29-year-old sales woman Mahalakshmi, whose body was found cut into 21 pieces and kept in a fridge at her apartment in Malleshwaram on September 21. According to reports, one of Mahalakshmi's colleagues, identified as Mukti Ranjan Roy, has been identified as the prime suspect in the case.

Mukti, who worked with Mahalakshmi, had expressed disapproval of her growing closeness to another man, although the identity of this individual has not been disclosed by the police. This revelation has raised suspicions about the motive behind the crime, with investigators believing that Mukti may have been driven by jealousy or a desire for revenge.

Mahalakshmi's estranged husband, Hemanth, had earlier pointed to Ashraf, a man from Uttarakhand with whom he claimed she was having an affair, as a possible suspect. However, police have confirmed that Ashraf is not the primary suspect in the case.

The police are currently working to locate Mukti, whose phone has been switched off. Authorities believe that he may be hiding near the Odisha-West Bengal border and are conducting a search operation to apprehend him.

The post-mortem report has revealed that Mahalakshmi's body was cut into 59 pieces, with samples of her intestines sent for toxicology testing to determine whether she had been poisoned before her death. Forensic experts are also analyzing fingerprints found on the refrigerator.

Mahalakshmi's family has been left devastated by her brutal murder. Her mother, Meena Rana, recalled how she last saw her daughter during the Rakshabandhan festival and only discovered her body after being alerted by a foul odor coming from the apartment. Her elder sister called for the strictest punishment for those responsible, saying, "Who cuts a woman into pieces like this?"

Mahalakshmi's husband, Hemanth, has filed a complaint against Ashraf, alleging that their relationship played a role in the crime. The police are still investigating the case and are working to bring the perpetrators to justice.
