Bengaluru Fridge Case: How Did Accused Plan His Route After Chopping Mahalakshmi's Body Into 59 Pieces?
The gruesome murder of 29-year-old Mahalakshmi, whose body was chopped into 59 pieces, has led to a shocking revelation in the investigation. According to police reports, Mukti Ranjan Roy, the alleged killer, escaped from Bengaluru to Bhadrak in Odisha with the help of his two younger brothers, Smriti Ranjan and Satya Ranjan.

Mukti allegedly confessed to his brothers about the murder and asked for their help in escaping. Smriti, who worked in Bengaluru's Hebbagodi, provided Mukti with a two-wheeler to leave the city, while Satya, who lived in Behrampore, picked him up and gave him shelter for nine days.
Police sources claim that the brothers did not report the murder to the authorities, allegedly due to fear and intimidation by Mukti. Smriti has been detained by the police in Bengaluru, while Satya was questioned by both the Odisha and Bengaluru police teams.
Satya told News18 that Mukti was frustrated with his relationship with Mahalakshmi and his job, and had even sought money from their mother and brothers to buy a car. He claimed that Mukti had complained of being blackmailed and threatened by Mahalaxmi, and on the day of the murder, she had threatened him with a knife.
According to Satya, Mukti had planned to dispose of Mahalakshmi's body after two or three months and intended to escape to the interiors of the state until the police lost track of him.
The police investigation revealed that Mukti had arrived at Satya's residence in Behrampore on September 16, where he spent three days before confessing to the murder. Satya claimed that Mukti told him he was "forced" to commit the crime because Mahalakshmi would "torture him and demand money from him".
Mukti stayed with Satya for another week before leaving for his home in Bhadrak on September 24. On September 25, his body was found hanging from a tree with a handwritten suicide note.
The police are still investigating the case and are yet to determine the motive behind the murder. The Bengaluru Police Commissioner, B Dayananda, said that the investigation is ongoing and that the matter is sub-judice.
