Bengaluru Elderly Couple's Viral Video Sparks Debate Over Alleged Domestic Abuse, Counterclaim Stories Surface
Activist Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj has taken to social media to share a video of domestic abuse faced by an elderly couple in Bengaluru. The video shows a woman, identified as Shweta Sehgal, verbally abusing her in-laws. Bhardwaj has also alleged that Sehgal has a history of faking assault and creating ruckuses.
"Meet Shweta Sehgal," Bhardwaj wrote on social media. "She abuses her in-laws, fakes assault, creates ruckus and then threatens them of criminal case. Even @BlrCityPolice looks so helpless here in front of her drama. So many elderly are facing such abuse in India everyday but no one hearing them @NCWIndia."

Bhardwaj futher wrote,''Indian laws are now more anti-men than pro women. I feel so sad for the elderly in-laws of this woman & more than that the kids. It is this daughter-in-law who is torturing them but pretending to be a victim. Saw her FB TL & feel terrible for her husband & his family. Shocking!.''
However, a contrasting narrative emerges in a video uploaded on YouTube under the username shweta gagan sehgal. The video alleges that Shweta Sehgal is herself a victim of domestic violence perpetrated by her husband, a CEO in Bangalore, her ex-Lieutenant General father-in-law from the Indian Army, and her mother-in-law.
As per the YouTube uploader, Shweta has been barred from accessing her own matrimonial home for a year and has been denied contact with her children. Additionally, the video accuses Shweta's husband and in-laws of filing false FIRs and over 20 cases against her.
"They keep denying custody rights even from the previous marriage; despite having two daughters, all three were deemed unfit," stated the YouTube user.
