What Happened Onboard Flight IX2749?

According to reports, the doctor, identified as Vyas Hiral Mohanbhai, boarded Air India Express flight IX2749 and left her cabin bag in the first-row luggage area, despite being assigned to seat 20F, which is toward the rear of the aircraft.

When the cabin crew politely asked her to place the bag near her designated seat, she allegedly refused to comply and instead demanded that the crew move the bag for her. Despite multiple requests from both the flight crew and the pilot, she continued to argue.

The situation escalated rapidly when the woman reportedly shouted alarming threats, including claiming she would crash the aircraft. The cabin crew immediately alerted the pilot, who tried to calm her down.

Due to the severity of her threat, the crew alerted security staff and CISF personnel, who promptly removed the woman from the aircraft before takeoff. Officials stated that her behavior endangered the safety of other passengers, and she was handed over to Bengaluru Police for legal action.

Who Is the Accused?

According to the report, the accused, Dr. Vyas Hiral Mohanbhai, is a resident of Shivanahalli near Yelahanka in Bengaluru. Her actions caused a serious security concern aboard the aircraft and delayed the flight.

The woman has been booked under multiple sections, including:

Section 351 (4): Criminal intimidation by anonymous communication

Section 353 (1)(b): Statements leading to public mischief under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)

Section 3(1)(a) of the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against Safety of Civil Aviation Act: Violence or threat that endangers the safety of an aircraft in flight

These charges indicate the serious legal implications of her actions, especially when related to aircraft safety and passenger welfare.
