Bengaluru Court Issues Notice to IAS Officer Rohini Sindhuri In Defamation Case Filed By IPS Office D Roopa
The 7th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court in Bengaluru has issued a notice to IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri in connection with a criminal defamation case filed by IPS officer Roopa D Moudgil, seeking her response to the allegations.
In her complaint, Roopa accused Rohini Sindhuri of making defamatory statements to the media on February 19, 2023, and posting similar remarks on her X account (formerly Twitter). Roopa claimed that the post garnered 1.8 lakh views and led to her subsequent transfer.

Roopa further alleged that the remarks caused significant mental distress to her family, including her husband, children, and sister. She also stated that she was left without a posting or salary for six months, which compounded the hardship faced by her family.
Citing these reasons, Roopa urged the court to register a criminal defamation case against Rohini Sindhuri.
