Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway: 71-Km Karnataka Stretch From Hoskote To Bethamangala Ready For Drivers
The eagerly awaited Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway has partially opened, with the Karnataka stretch now accessible for traffic. This new roadway, spanning 71 kilometers in the state, has already become a hotspot for locals and Bengaluru residents seeking scenic long drives, taking U-turns at the endpoint to enjoy the smooth ride.
The expressway, a ₹17,900-crore greenfield project, is South India's first of its kind and aims to revolutionize connectivity between Bengaluru and Chennai. Once completed, the 260-kilometer, high-speed corridor will reduce travel time from seven hours to just three, cutting through Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. Full completion is expected by August next year.

Currently, no tolls are being collected, as confirmed by an official from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). "Exit points are located at Malur, Bangarpet, and Bethamangala. Many people are enjoying long drives on the expressway," the official shared.
In Karnataka, the project has been divided into three segments:
- Hoskote to Malur: 27.1 kilometers
- Malur to Bangarpet: 27.1 kilometers
- Bangarpet to Bethamangala: 17.5 kilometers
While the Karnataka section nears completion, construction in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu continues. Once operational, the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway promises to redefine travel across the three states, setting a new benchmark for infrastructure in the region.
