As per the latest reports, three workers have been successfully rescued from the rubble. However, police officials have indicated that there may be 10 to 12 more workers trapped inside the debris. Emergency response teams are on-site, working diligently to locate and free any individuals still trapped.

Additional Commissioner of Police (West), N Satheesh Kumar, confirmed, "Five people have died, and 13 workers have been rescued so far."

The victims include Harman (26), Tripal (35), and Mohd Sahil (19), all from Bihar, along with Sathya Raju (25) and Shankar.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar personally contacted jurisdictional DCP Devaraj to receive updates on the incident. Both leaders were briefed on the tragedy and the ongoing rescue efforts.

Further details about the tragedy are still awaited. Initial reports suggest that work continued despite the heavy rains, contributing to the incident. Urban Development Minister and local MLA Byrathi Suresh quickly arrived at the scene to oversee the ongoing operations.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash as the building came down, prompting panic among nearby residents. Many rushed to the scene, hoping to help but were quickly advised to maintain a safe distance to allow rescue teams to work effectively.

Rain is forecasted to persist until October 24, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning. Meanwhile, Fire and Rescue Services personnel are working tirelessly to rescue workers trapped in the debris of a collapsed construction site in Babusapalya, near Hennur, according to media reports.

Bengaluru has experienced severe waterlogging in several areas, with rain levels reaching the highest recorded for a 24-hour period in October in 27 years. As of 8:30 AM on Tuesday, the city registered a remarkable 186.2 mm of rainfall, surpassing the previous October record of 178.9 mm set in 1997.

The worst-affected areas include Yelahanka and Vidyaranyapura in northern Bengaluru, along with Chowdeshwari Nagar in the west, which recorded 141.5 mm, 109 mm, and 57 mm of rain, respectively, within the same 24-hour period.

Kogilu Lake in Yelahanka, located near the Kendriya Vihar Apartment complex, overflowed, leading authorities to deploy boats for rescue operations. The apartment complex was inundated with two to three feet of water, damaging several vehicles in the process.

Significant waterlogging was reported in northern Bengaluru areas such as Jakkur, Kodigehalli, and Horamavu. In Kodigehalli, the GKVK compound wall collapsed, and water flooded a nearby apartment complex. The basement of Kaiser Residency also experienced flooding, and vehicles were submerged in the Sahakar Nagar underpass.

Reports indicate that over 100 homes were flooded in Austin Town and Shantinagar, with residents expressing concerns over a malfunctioning stormwater drainage system. In the southeastern part of the city, residents of Rainbow Drive Layout in Sarjapur, an area prone to monsoon flooding, also faced waterlogging. Homes in HSR Layout and along the Outer Ring Road were similarly affected.
