Bengaluru Bandh on April 22: Hosakote Highway Blockade Announced Over Auto LPG Crisis, ₹10,000 Aid Demand

Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj has called for a Hosakote National Highway bandh on April 22, highlighting the ongoing LPG supply crisis affecting auto drivers. The announcement was made near Vidhana Soudha, where he said the issue has remained unresolved for a long time.

Vatal Nagaraj said auto drivers are facing continuous disruption due to LPG supply issues, directly impacting their daily income. Many drivers, he noted, are struggling to manage basic expenses as the problem persists.

₹10,000 Monthly Compensation Demand

He demanded that the government immediately resolve the LPG shortage. If that is not possible, he said each auto driver should be given ₹10,000 per month as financial support to sustain their livelihood.

Appeal to Centre Over Fuel Situation

Linking the crisis to global developments, Vatal Nagaraj said conflicts in the Middle East have affected fuel availability. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders to intervene, stating that the impact is being felt by common people.

He cautioned that if the situation continues for another 20 days, it could worsen further. He indicated that stronger protests could follow if no action is taken.

As part of the protest, there are plans to block national highways and shut toll plazas. The April 22 bandh on the Hosakote stretch is expected to disrupt traffic and transport in the region, as the protest aims to push authorities to take immediate action.
