Diwali Gift: Over 10 Lakh Women To Receive Money As Min Assures Swift Payment For Gruha Lakshmi Beneficiaries

Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar addressed the delay in funds disbursement within the ambitious 'Gruha Lakshmi' scheme on Tuesday. She attributed the delay to a 'technical issue' and assured that her department is actively working to streamline the process.

Additionally, Minister Hebbalkar mentioned that the Finance Department has provided assurance that money will be transferred each month between the 15th and 20th.

As Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Funds Leave Over 10 Lakh Women Frustrated, Minister Says Payment Will Be Disbursed Soo

Reportedly, over 10 lakh women are still awaiting the first installment of the Karnataka Congress' 'Gruha Lakshmi' scheme, which promises a monthly financial aid of Rs 2,000 to female heads of households. The Congress-led government initiated the scheme on August 30 but has encountered various obstacles in disbursing the funds.

Minister Hebbalkar stated that the department is simplifying the process and elaborated, "The government disbursed funds to 1.10 crore people this month. Delays have occurred due to issues related to Know Your Customer (KYC) details and technical challenges in e-governance. Those who did not receive the first installment will now receive funds for two months together. We are actively collaborating with banks and our staff to streamline the process."

She also expressed appreciation for the Finance Department's decision to transfer funds between the 15th and 20th of each month. She remarked, "I welcome the Finance Department's decision, as it provides clarity on the timing of fund transfers. Previously, the process took 25 days after funds were released, but now it has been reduced to just 6 days. We encountered KYC issues with 23 lakh individuals, and we have resolved most of them. Only around seven lakh cases remain pending, and they will also be resolved soon."

The confusion surrounding fund transfers has prompted numerous women to visit banks seeking information, leading to complications. Minister Hebbalkar assured that the process will be fully streamlined by the following month.

To determine whether your Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Application has been received and is under consideration, the department has introduced the Karnataka Gruha Lakshmi Status Check Online Service.

This service allows eligible individuals to use their RC Number to access their application status online. Upon confirmation of your application, you will also receive your payment through the online system. The system also verifies the eligibility of applicants for this scheme, ensuring that eligible individuals receive the benefits directly into their bank accounts.

To access your Gruha Lakshmi Scheme Status Online, it is recommended that you use the official website, i.e., ahara.kar.nic.in, or follow the instructions provided below.
