Another year in jail if Sasikala fails to pay up fine
Sasikala Natarajan has been asked to pay Rs 10 crores and Rs 10,000 fine imposed by the Supreme court.
Bengaluru, Feb 21: She may be the kingmaker in Tamil Nadu but is only a simple imprisonment convict in Bengaluru's central jail. Jailed intrerim general secretary Sasikala Natarajan may end up serving another year plus one month in jail if she fails to pay up the Rs 10 crore and Rs 10,000 fine imposed on her by the Supreme court.
How Sasikala kept tabs on Tamil Nadu from jail
The Supreme court very well dashed Sasikala's chief ministerial hopes after convicting her in a disproportionate assets case and now she better pay the fine unless she would like to serve another year in jail according to the order.

Her associates, Sudhakaran and Ilavarasi have been asked to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 failing which they will too have to serve an additional one month in jail. In a release by the Bengaluru central jail authorities, it has been conveyed that the trio are being treated like any other convict in the prison and no additional benefits are being offered.
Keeping security in mind, women prisoners have been lodged in the same cell as Sasikala. Jail authorities have claimed that the trio have been given uniforms and plates just like all prisoners. Jail cooked food is served to the trio and regular medical check-ups are being conducted. Authorities also claim that medicines, as prescribed by doctors, are being administered to the prisoners.
They have also been given a television for entertainment, authorities said.
