Air India, Singapore Airlines were 25 kms away from MH17

According to 24-hour global flight tracking service Flightradar 24, both the airlines were just 25 kms away when the Malaysian airline disappeared.
Shortly after the incident many airlines avoided the Ukraine airspace fearing the safety of the passengers.
Air India officials said that they were abiding by the international advisory to avoid airspace over conflict zones like Ukraine.
Reports also suggested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's flight too was rerouted after the tragedy.
Flightradar 24 then said that following the incident many flights had avoided the Ukraine airspace including another Malaysian airline MH 21.
