A Sky Full of Stars: Mysuru Sets Guinness World Record with 3,000-Drone Light Show

The Mysuru Dasara celebrations showcased a spectacular drone show featuring 2,983 drones, achieving a Guinness World Record for the largest aerial image of a mammal. This event highlighted technological innovation while celebrating cultural heritage.

A drone show at the Mysuru Dasara celebrations has captured widespread attention. Nearly 3,000 drones lit up the night sky with stunning formations, creating dazzling images. The aerial footage of this event has gone viral, showcasing the breathtaking visual spectacle.

The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) ensured that all necessary procedures were followed for the project. This included certification by a London-based team and thorough vetting by aeronautical engineers, auditors, and legal experts.

Guinness World Record Achievement

Drone content creator Srihari Karath shared visuals of intricate drone patterns, including a tiger artwork that earned a Guinness World Record entry. The display took place at the Torchlight Parade Ground in Bannimantap on September 28. It used 2,983 drones to create the massive tiger artwork, surpassing the previous record of 1,985 drones.

Srihari Karath captioned his viral video: "Full video of the 3000 Drones Show by Botlab Dynamics at Mysuru last night, and a Guinness Record for 'Largest Aerial image of a Mammal formed by drones.'" The event was held at Banni Mantap Grounds and featured nearly 3,000 colourful drones painting the night sky with stunning visuals.

Captivating Drone Formations

Spectators were mesmerised by formations depicting the solar system, world map, Indian soldier, peacock, tiger, dolphin, eagle, Lord Krishna dancing on a serpent, Mother Cauvery, Karnataka map with guarantee schemes, Ambari elephant, and Goddess Chamundeshwari. These captivating images left an indelible impression on those who witnessed them.

The centerpiece was undoubtedly the tiger artwork; however, the show also featured a series of mesmerizing images. These included depictions of celestial bodies and cultural symbols such as Lord Krishna dancing on a serpent and Mother Cauvery.

Upcoming Shows During Dasara Festival

The September 28 evening event marked the first trial demonstration. A second trial occurred on September 29. Main shows are scheduled for October 1 and 2. These events promise to offer thousands of spectators an unforgettable experience during the Dasara festival.

This drone show is not only a visual treat but also an example of technological prowess. It highlights how innovation can be used to enhance cultural celebrations while setting new records in aerial artistry.
