34-Year-Old Woman Films Radiologist’s Inappropriate Act at Plasma Medinostics, Files Complaint

In a shocking incident on the city's outskirts, a 34-year-old woman from Anekal has accused a radiologist of sexual assault during a medical scan at a private diagnostic centre. The alleged incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Monday at Plasma Medinostics on Vidhata School Main Road, Anekal.

According to the police complaint, the woman - a mother of three - had been advised to undergo a scan by a doctor at the Government Hospital in Anekal after she reported feeling unwell. She and her husband visited the diagnostic centre, where the radiologist, identified as Jayakumar, allegedly sexually harassed her under the pretext of conducting the scan.

The complainant stated that after being asked to drink two glasses of water, the accused began touching her inappropriately while performing the procedure. When she confronted him, Jayakumar reportedly shouted at her and asked her to leave if she doubted his conduct.

Disturbed by the incident, the woman informed her husband, who advised her to record the process if she went back for a second scan. When she re-entered the room with her phone camera secretly switched on, the radiologist allegedly repeated the act. The woman also claimed that Jayakumar threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anyone.

Following the ordeal, the victim approached the Anekal police and lodged a formal complaint. However, the incident took another turn when allegations surfaced that the accused was initially brought to the police station but later allowed to leave. The complainant's family reportedly staged a brief protest outside the station, demanding immediate action.

A senior police officer refuted these allegations, terming them "baseless." He clarified that no protest took place and that the accused is still absconding.

"If the accused was brought to the station, how will he be let off in such a serious case?" the officer remarked, adding that efforts are underway to trace and arrest Jayakumar.

The Anekal police have registered a case under sections related to sexual harassment, criminal intimidation, and intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace.
