What foreign media is saying about crisis in Iraq

The foreign media too is covering the entire war in Iraq where the Sunni insurgents are taking over cities in the country. Here is what some of the foreign media had to say about the on-going crisis-
CNN- On Wednesday, US President Barack Obama said that he didn't need any Congressional authority to act about military intervention in Iraq. CNN reported that Obama had gone over US efforts to 'strenghten the capacity of Iraq's security forces to confront the threat.'
The Guardian - The Guardian reported that Iraq had requested the US for assistance after insurgents had taken over oil refinery in Iraq. Iraq government had asked the US to stage air strikes on Sunni insurgents after they took over the Baiji refinery.
US is yet to decide on Iraq's request.
Dawn- Meanwhile Pakistan's Dawn reported that 40 Indians were abducted in Mosul, Iraq after Ministry of External Affairs, India said that there was no ransom demands for the same.
It said that while the ministry was in touch with the nationals for a long time, they lost contact on early Wednesday.
The Wall Street Journal- The WSJ said that the Obama government had signalled in an indirect approach that a new government must be formed in Iraq without Prime Minister Nouri-al-Maliki. US said that the Shiite leader was unable to reconcile with the Sunni minority in the country.

A growing number of U.S. lawmakers and Arab allies, particularly Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, are pressing the White House to pull its support for Mr. Maliki.
