Rajasthan Government Launches 12 New Policies To Drive Economic Growth And Foster Innovation

The Bhajan Lal government in Rajasthan is preparing to introduce 12 new policies spanning various sectors, including agriculture, artificial intelligence, sports, and space defense. These initiatives aim to drive economic growth, encourage innovation, and promote inclusive development. Some policies are expected to be unveiled before the 'Pravasi Rajasthani Divas' on December 10th.

Principal Secretary Alok Gupta stated, "The upcoming policies reflect GoR's vision for future-ready governance, as each policy is designed to boost investment, innovation, and job creation. Together, they reinforce Rajasthan's position as a hub of sustainable growth." The state aims to create an ecosystem that supports modern industries and bridges rural and industrial economies.

Focus on Emerging Sectors

Among the proposed policies is an industrial policy aimed at enhancing the manufacturing sector and attracting investments in emerging fields. Complementing this is the Rajasthan Trade Promotion Policy, which seeks to enhance trade competitiveness. The government also plans to launch an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Policy to support AI-driven enterprises and foster research capabilities.

To further its ambition of becoming a global investment destination, Rajasthan will introduce the Global Capability Centre Policy. This initiative aims to attract multinational corporations to establish knowledge hubs in the state. Additionally, a Semiconductor Policy is being developed to position Rajasthan as a leader in advanced electronics manufacturing.

Tourism and Green Initiatives

A Space and Aero Defence Policy is also on the cards, leveraging Rajasthan's strategic potential for aerospace and defense manufacturing. To elevate tourism with world-class infrastructure, a New Tourism Policy will focus on heritage, eco-friendly, and rural tourism. The Green Growth Credit Policy will incentivize sustainable projects and green entrepreneurship.

The Sports Policy aligns with the Chief Minister's vision from last year's UK roadshow to develop Jaipur as a sports hub. This policy aims to promote sports culture by building infrastructure and supporting emerging talent. Additionally, an IT Outsourcing, Forest, and Agroforestry Policy will encourage sustainable land use in rural areas.

Agriculture and Environmental Policies

The Agriculture and Food Processing Policy aims to enhance value addition for farmers while promoting agri-based industries. This approach ensures better returns for farmers by focusing on value addition. The Rajasthan Vehicle Scrappage Policy rounds off these initiatives by phasing out old vehicles to reduce emissions and promote eco-friendly mobility.

These comprehensive policies reflect Rajasthan's commitment to fostering growth across various sectors while ensuring sustainability. By focusing on innovation and investment attraction, the state aims to build a robust economy that benefits all its residents.
