Narendra Modi meets mother on 64th birthday, thanks supporters

, who turned 63 on Tuesday, met his nonagenarian mother Hiraben Modi here to seek her blessings. Modi, who has been nominated as the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, thanked his supporters and followers across the nation and the globe for their greetings.

Speaking to reporters here, Modi said September 17 also happens to be the day of the worship of Lord Viswakarma, the mechanic-god and this day signifies the day of the dignity of labour. He greeted labourers and workers on the occasion.

Love of the supporters never go in vain, said Modi on his 64th birthday

Modi added that September 17 is also memorable for it was on this day that late home minister of India Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel had integrated Hyderabad into India. Modi is known for his admiration of Patel, also from Gujarat.

Modi said mother's blessing can be the best thing one can have in his life.
