Narayan Sai applies for anticipatory bail in Surat sessions court
The court will now hear the bail plea on Tuesday.
Sai has been absconding ever since two sisters from Surat filed an FIR against him and his father for allegedly raping them between 2002 and 2006.
Sai's lawyer said that they had filed for the anticipatory bail on Friday and the court will hear their application on Monday or Tuesday. "We have stated many grounds but most importantly are that the delay of the FIR that was registered."
The Surat police has issued a lookout notice against Sai who has been on the run ever since the news broke out. On Thursday Gujarat newspapers were carrying ads by Sai claiming that he was not absconding.Earlier the police feared that he may escape out of the country specially to Nepal in order to avoid his arrest.
