Coldplay Breaks Record With 1.34 Lakh Fans At India’s Largest Concert!

Coldplay's final concert in India, held on Sunday night in Ahmedabad, attracted a staggering 1.34 lakh fans, making it the largest ticketed concert ever in the country. The band, known for their globally popular Music of the Spheres World Tour, outshone previous concert attendance records by a margin of over 60,000 people, as reported by Hindustan Times. This achievement surpasses the crowd sizes of previous major shows, including those by Diljit Dosanjh and Justin Bieber, both of which attracted around 50,000 attendees.

Record-Breaking Concert at Narendra Modi Stadium

Coldplay Breaks Record With 1 34 Lakh Fans

The concert took place at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, with its massive seating capacity of over 100,000. In addition to the stands, the event utilized the field area, further increasing the capacity and helping the band break records. Coldplay's performance, led by lead singer Chris Martin, set a new precedent for large-scale concerts in India. Before this, the largest ticketed concerts in the country were by singers Diljit Dosanjh and Justin Bieber, both held in smaller stadiums.

Coldplay's Historic India Tour

As part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, Coldplay performed five shows in India, including three in Mumbai and two in Ahmedabad. The final gig, held on Republic Day, broke the band's previous personal best of 83,000 attendees at a show in Sydney in November 2024. With 1.34 lakh people present, the Ahmedabad concert became not only Coldplay's largest in India but also their largest-ever concert worldwide, as per HT reports.

The Narendra Modi Stadium's vast capacity allowed Coldplay to perform in front of an unprecedented crowd, a luxury not often available at cricket games. Fans packed the stands and the field, further contributing to the historical significance of the event.

A Comparison with Previous Big Concerts in India

Coldplay's achievement is particularly remarkable when compared to previous major events in India. Justin Bieber's 2017 concert at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai saw a reported crowd of 50,000 to 65,000, while Diljit Dosanjh's December 2024 performance at the Sector 34 Ground in Chandigarh attracted 50,000 fans. Coldplay's Ahmedabad concert dwarfed both by more than 60,000 people, firmly establishing it as the largest concert India has ever seen.

Celebrity Guests and Global Recognition

The Ahmedabad concert, which was streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar in India, was a star-studded affair. Prominent personalities like Shreya Ghoshal, Suhana Khan, Navya Nanda, Kajal Aggarwal, and cricketer Jasprit Bumrah were spotted among the audience, enjoying Coldplay's unforgettable performance, as reported by Hindustan Times.

A Night to Remember for Music Fans in India

Coldplay's Indian tour has proven to be a monumental success, captivating fans across the country and creating history along the way. With their record-breaking Ahmedabad concert, Coldplay has not only cemented their place as one of the world's most influential music acts but also set a new standard for live performances in India.
