Kerala's 'Zero Landless Project' to be a boon for landless people

The highly ambitious project by the state will be launched by Congress President Sonia Gandhi, who will inaugurate title deeds at the central stadium in the state capital.
Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash said that the project aims at providing land to all landless people in the state by 2015. In the first phase itself title deeds would be distributed to 17, 260 identified beneficiaries. 77,306 plots have been identified by the state so far, each measuring three cents, the minister said.
Landless people to get land by 2015
Barren revenue land and surplus land had been marked for the first phase of the project. The location of plots will be alloted through draw of lots.
Out of the 2,33, 232 people in the state who have been listed as landless, one lakh will be given land in the first phase itself, whereas the remaining would get lands by 2015.
The identified beneficiaries belong to six districts upto Ernakulum.
