Blast in busy market area in Kolkata, probe on

took place at the busy Chandni Chowk Market area here on Friday, local channels reported. Local people and businessmen heard the explosion in the busy area. The location of a shopping mall and metro railway station in the vicinity made the blast look more threatening since thousands of people use the route everyday.

The blast took place in a busy market area at the heart of the city

Police officers and the bomb squad reached the spot. Sniffer dogs were deployed and the police discovered two crude container bombs from the area. Police said it will sent for forensic tests to conclude what kind of explosive was being used.

No casualties were reported from the blast.
