New Delhi, Aug 30: The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday rescued a maid from being abducted in Janak Puri area of Delhi.

According to a report, some men tried to abduct a maid in a car at Pankha Road, Janakpuri, when she was returning home in an auto. But she was rescued by the passersby and the AAP activists admitted her to nearby Chanan Devi Hospital for medical checkup.

The abductors soon fled away after failed attempt.

The incident even led to protest and several people blocked the road and reportedly damaged a DTC bus.

The reason behind the attempt to her abduction is stated that she had alleged rape against her employer in West Delhi's Inderpuri area.

The maid is reportedly a resident of Rajapuri. When her family members took this matter to her employer, he refused to talk with them.

The police has not yet registered a case of rape against employer.
